How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Ice Maker Can’t Rotate/Discharge Ice
First, remove power to the refrigerator.
To replace the ice maker you first have to remove the back mounting assembly, which ice maker is attached to.
Only three Phillips head screws need to be removed: 2 on the bottom and 1 on the back of the ice maker mounting assembly. Do not remove the two diagonal Phillips head
... Read more screws holding the dispenser motor on the reverse side of the mounting assembly.
As you pull out the mounting assembly to the front you will see a connector on the top inside, which must be unplugged. A narrow standard screw driver will help the connector lock to release; slide the screwdriver tip under the connector lock clip and it will allow the connector to be unplugged.
Once the ice maker mounting assembly is removed and placed on a flat surface it will be self evident as to how to remove and replace the ice maker. The 1” tape might be needed during the cable re-routing process. However you can reuse the original tape required to be removed during the ice maker remove and replace process, if possible.
Reinstall the ice maker mounting assembly in the reverse order it was removed.
Apply power to the refrigerator.
Cycle the ice maker to Off and then back to On. It may take an hour or two before the ice maker produces ice because the temperature inside the ice maker must reach “0” degrees Fahrenheit before it will begin making ice.
Pull the ice maker

The refrigerator ice maker needed replacing
The only tool required was a Phillips screwdriver. I disassembled the old icemaker and unplugged the electrical snap in device. I removed the ground wire. Then reversed the steps in replacing the refrigerator ice maker kit assembly. It took slightly over 30 minutes to remove and replace the ice maker.

ice would stick in 5 of the 14 cubes spaces from mineral deposits, then ice couldn't drop and water would not fill
was easy watching youtube video of how to replace whole ice maker, was only 3 screws, remove from the door, a couple of screws hold it to the flat piece, route the wires around the unit, connect the plug as installing it in the door, position it, and tighten 3 screws, that easy

My ice maker wouldn't release the ice, nothing was frozen and the motor would just bind
I bought the ice assembly motor only, super easy to install, remove the three main screws, lift out assembly, detach the cable. Then remove the screws on the parts, lift the tape, redo everything in reverse and it works flawlessly!

Old ice tray cracked and wouldn't hold water
Repair was pretty easy but be ready to possibly switch out the wiring harness. The new ice maker had a smaller connector that would not fit the connector built into the door of the fridge. I had to pull the harness from my old ice maker and swap it onto the new maker. After that was done, everything mated up perfectly and worked fine.

My ice tray keeps hanging up and starts a loud knocking. I then have to give it a little nudge on the left side and it will then continue with its operation. It continues to do this over and over, so i have just turned the ice maker off. Do i need a complete new one.

My icemaker work and function, make ice but not dispense the ice after the made the ice, it fail to flip to dispense the ice into the bucket. My question is because the sensor fail to sent it to continue making ice and dispense it in the last cycle? At issue it made ice but i have to push the button in the back to make it dispense into the bucket
For model number 79570332410
Hi Tom,
Thank you for your question. It seems like you might need to replace your ice maker. It could be your control board but I would suggest checking your ice maker first because it has its own mechanical control on the part that controls the stripper arm to remove the ice from the mold. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

ICE MAKER STOPPED MAKING ICE , WATER DISPENSER IS WORKING
For model number LFX28968ST
Hello Terry, thank you for your inquiry. We would recommend checking the water inlet valve, part number PS3533117, to fix the issue. It supplies water to the refrigerator ice maker and water dispenser. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
Ice maker will not dump ice until test button is pushed. Installed new
LG AEQ73110210 still will not work. Is there control lmodusle?
For model number LG AEQ73110210
Hi Jessie, thank you for reaching out. If the icemaker will not cycle on its own but does cycle when you press and hold the test/reset button, then check the temperature around the icemaker with a thermostat. The only two things that would stop the icemaker from cycling on its own is a bad icemaker or a temperature above 10ºF. The ice maker will not cycle for safety reasons if it is above 10ºF. We recommend checking the temperature of the refrigerator since you have already replaced the ice maker. Please submit a new question if you have any follow-ups!

My ice maker disburses ice cubes but when finished ice cubes will latter fall out of dispenser
For model number Lfx25974
Hello Rick, thank you for writing. You will want to consider either the Ice Bin Assembly, the Auger Motor, or the Ice Maker itself. The model number you provided is partial with multiple variations using some different parts. We will need the rest of the model number to look into the correct replacements. We look forward to hearing back from you.

I just replace the ice maker with PartSelect unit # AEQ73110210. That fit my LG model. The new ice tray fills with water, but never freezes. (The old one I replaced froze, but never dumped the ice.). Did I mess up the installation, with the thermostat?
For model number LFX28968SW
Hello Carlos, thank you for getting in touch. We would recommend making sure that you have installed the ice maker correctly. If the problem persists, then you may need to check the temperature sensor, part number PS3646009, to solve the problem. A malfunctioning temperature sensor can most probably cause this issue. We hope this helps!
27.6 cu ft French Door the ice cube tray broke off at one of the ends.. What do i need to order
For model number lfx28968st
Hi Ellen,
Thank you for your question. If part of the ice bucket assembly broke off at one of the ends, it will need to be replaced. The part number for the ice bucket assembly is PS7789317. We hope this helps!
My water dispenser works but my ice maker won't fill with water. I have made sure the sensors were clean and free from ice/frost. Just changed the water filter and ran water thru the water dispenser. What else can I do? Could the sensors have went bad? Can I buy them and change myself?
For model number lfxs26973s
Hi Becky, thank you for the question. The issue is not with the sensors, we would suggest replacing the water inlet valve, part number PS7784018. It supplies water to the ice maker and water dispenser in the refrigerator. We hope this solves your problem!
Is there parts for this. Part i am interested in is the little clear plastic water shute that is on the upper right hand corner of the dispenser. Is this part available. I cracked the little leg that holds it in place.
For model number AEQ 73110210
Hello D. Wallen, thank you for writing. We will need the model number for your refrigerator to locate the replacement parts for it. We look forward to hearing back from you!
