Broken Dryer Knob

First let me just say that Partselect.com is now one my stored favorites in my web browser. I came home from a business trip and saw a pair of pliers on the dryer. I thought that was odd until my wife informed me that the knob on the dryer had broken. So she was using the pliers to select the cycle. Somehow she knew where the missing pointer was actually pointing. Since the dryer was over 5 years old I saw this as an opportunity to upgrade both appliances. Not with my frugal wife. Whirlpool Laundry Accessories Leveling Leg Locking Nut

The leveling leg locking nut is an OEM replacement fastener for use in dryers and washers. It has a head diameter of 3/8 inches and a thread pitch of 16 threads per inch. The nut secures the leveling legs which helps to stabilize and level the appliances when they are placed on uneven surfaces. The nut ensures that the leg is stable and does not move during operation. Over time, the threads on the nut may become stripped, or the nut can corrode and break rendering it unable to secure the leveling legs. A faulty nut will cause the appliance to shake and vibrate excessively, and potentially damage the floor and its internal components. It is recommended to replace both the leveling leg and nut at the same time. Use a wrench or pliers to loosen and remove the old locking nut from the leveling leg. Thread the new nut on to the leveling leg and ensure that it is tightened securely. Be careful not to overtighten and damage the threads. Gently shake the appliance to ensure that it is stable and level. Each nut is sold individually.

This pedestal pad, also known as a washer foot pad, is a genuine OEM part used in washing machines. It is a rubber pad, with a diameter of 1.5 inches, which is placed under each foot/leveling leg of the washer. The pad provides stability and support to the washer when it is running. It absorbs the movement of the washer to reduce shaking, noise, and potential damage to the floor. Inspect the pads under each of the washer feet and replace those that are worn out or cracked. It is recommended to order four pads, one for each of the washer legs. Each pad is sold individually. Begin the repair by cleaning the surface beneath the machine to remove any dirt or debris. Firmly press the pad onto each foot/leveling leg of the washing machine and ensure it is properly aligned. You may need to adjust the leveling legs to ensure the machine is level and stable.
