on the french doors my granddaughter kept turning the inner seal bar when the door was open and when we went to close it it was in the wrong position and eventually the upper hinge broke
I took a small straight screw driver and popped the cap case off, removed old hinge and installed new hinge and snapped the cap back in place.. took all of 30 seconds
I removed the vegetable bins as well as the side panels holding the flip panel. I then tilted the left panel and slipped the side pins in their respective holes. This took some time as it was difficult getting the housing under the drawers to fit back into the side ledges. I was ready to call for a repair serviceman but was proud when the job was completed.
Appreciated others comments before I had to repair mine! Took me a bit to get clear part out of white frame (with screwdriver). Popped clear part into new white frame, but then had to push on some parts to really get it to snap fully in. Then it was simple to put the one pin into the hole on the fridge and bend the frame slightly for the other pin to go in. Thrilled to have it look great and work correctly.
Ice Bucket cracked, Ice Maker leaking and making noise
I unplugged the fridge. I removed the old ice bucket, removed the screw on the cover for the ice maker cord, unplugged the cord, pushed in the clip that holds in the ice maker, pulled down and slid the ice maker towards me. It came right out. I replaced everything in reverse order. It all works great. I did verify my main control bord was at an updated release level before replacing the Ice Maker. Some of the sites I found said that both need to be replaced do not meet the recomended rev level. I don't remember what they were, I wasn't expecting to submit any instructions.
Installed new spring pin and spring. Took only 2-3 minutes. It was more difficult to get the correct part since the spring pin was the only number listed in the part diagram and I actually needed the spring and had to call customer service to get the correct part number.
I figured out how the whole thing worked by taking it apart. After several attempts to clear the passageways of ice that were getting stuck, I had a repairman out to take a look. He wanted $350 for the repair and replacement. I paid the $89 truck charge and sent him on the way. (He did take five minutes and sort of fix the french door close mechanism which also is failing, but that's another issue.)I ordered the part and plugged it in to the receptacle in the ice compartment. Savings: about $150. Now I have ice! Thanks Part select!
Drawer was left open when doors were shut. Broke one of the pins that holds the drawer cover in place
Removed the clear plexiglass window. Cleaned it with soap and warm water preparing it to be installed into the new Drawer Cover Frame. Re-installed the Plexiglass into the new frame and mounted cover assembly to its fixing place.
