Great part, fixed the issue
My washer when running certain loads would sound and shake as if no-knock warrant was being served attempting to break down the door. After replacing the suspension rods I had to double check to make sure the washer was set going because the violent shaking was no more.
Pretty simple to do, definitely would recommend having a towel close by, I thought I had wet shopvac’d enough, but when tipping and turning more slipped out.

Parts Worked and Repair Was Moderate
I repaired our washing machine Amana Washer NTW4605EW0 using the parts select site to identify what could be the issue after I googled "washing machine shakes on spin." ?? Parts Select was one of the top results. I then went on their site and searched for "washing machine shakes" and it led me to a page that identified possible culprits and let me search on my model washer for replacement parts.
https://www.partselect.com/Models/NTW4605EW0/.
Used a YouTube video to guide me and the rest was history as they say. https://youtu.be/yCexXm_7zDE
I work from home and did the repair on my lunch break.
Full disclosure I don't normally do reviews and if you post a question in response to my review I'm pretty sure I won't respond, my bad. However the video was clear enough for me to follow along and I'm a terrible DIY. However in this case just didn't have funds for new washer so I said I have no other choice but to attempt it.

When the washer would go into spin cycle it sounded like the drum was banging all four sides of the washer.
Unplugged from power, unhooked water lines. Then removed back cover and control panel and top set to the side. Rear rods very easy to do by yourself after those where done have help and tip it backwards and change out the front 2 then reassembled and hooked back up and tested. Everything worked like brand new !!!

The washer would not only shake, but sound like a mule was kicking the side of unit!
I watched the PartsSelect video. I was hoping for the tub with the slots in the tub mounts, but mine didn't have them, so I had to lay it down on its back. The only thing I did that was not in the video was I placed a 2" thick closed cell foam knee pad I had on hand between the tub and the back of the housing. When I laid it down, the

It's strange that I searched for my issue several times and only saw recommendations to level the washer. It was level. Then one day I ran across the suspension rod resolution. It didn't do it on every load, but after a year of my wife nagging me and threatening to get a new washer, I finally fixed it. The biggest issue is just logistics in a condo hallway and a little leaking water. I also replaced my hoses. Should be in good shape until the next thing.....

Washer machine banging and moving/walking
Followed video instructions. Instructions were easy to follow but took me longer than I expected. About 3 hours. Machine is working beautifully since the repair was done.
The installation was very easy and took me 45 minutes to complete by myself. I put the washer on two cinder blocks and then removed the lid. I started with the suspension rods that were closest to me and they were really easy to exchange. When I got to the rods in the back they were a little more difficult because there was more tension w

Is there a video or illustration that shows the dis/assembly process for replacing the suspension rods (pn # w10780045) on the Whirlpool washer (model wtw4800bq1)?
For model number WTW4800BQ1
Hi Lyle,
Thank you for your question. You will need tape, pliers, and a 1/4" nutdriver. It is a good idea to have a towel handy for any water leaks. Unplug the washer and turn off the hot/cold water. Remove the drain hose and be careful of excess water. Loosen the hoses from the back of the washer, then remove the access panel on the back. Remove the top panel. Tape down the lid so it does not open unexpectedly. Pull the top panel towards you - lift up and push back to unlock it. There are two metal tabs that need to slide into the top panel slots. Tip the top back and lay it back against a wall, being careful not to damage the wire harness. Lift the suspension rod and release it from the ball. Push from underneath to release the ball and bushing. Lift the suspension rod through the opening and attach it to the ball. Close the lid and reverse the process to put your washer back together. Good luck with your repair.

When loaded the tub seems to drop so low, when agitating the tub bangs against the side. Will new suspension parts repair this or is my problem something else ?
For model number WTW4810BQ0
Hi Ranch,
Thank you for your question. It does sound like your suspension parts would be the issue. I do not think that it would be anything else in this particular case. You should be able to tell if you take a look at your springs. If they pull apart very easily, then they have just worn out and need to be replaced. The springs should be very tough to actually pull on. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Will the suspension rods stop the machine from hitting the sides and bouncing when its spinning?
For model number RTW4641BQ0
Hello Joe, thank you for your question. If the unit is always off balance and is bouncing and hitting the sides of the cabinet when its in spin mode you will definitely want to replace the suspension rod kit. I hope this helps!

Does part #22 (tub suspension) include all 4 rods & springs? What about the keepers?

Hello Kevin, Thank you for your inquiry. This part does include all 4 rods and springs. The suspension rod supports (part W10780045 #23 & 24 in the diagram) are a separate part. Hope this helps!

Are the springs in the suspension, the weakest link, if this unit is severely overloaded? In other words is it common that the suspension kit needs replacing after a unit is overloaded to the point that the tub sags down 2 or 3 inches?
For model number NTW4605EW0
Hello Tom,
Thank you for your question. Yes, if there were any balance issues with the tub at all, whether through overloading or wearing out over time, the suspension rods are always the first part to be the culprit over anything else. Id check your suspension rods to see if one or more of them have any physical defects. Hope this helps!

We are looking at this model to purchase used, looks to be in great condition. It's been sitting in a garage for almost two years as it was left in a house and the new owners purchased new. Question the tub entire unit you can move back forth where our old one was almost non-moving. Is this normal?
For model number WTW4800BQ1
Hello David, Thank you for the question. It is normal to have some movement in the tub but too much movement can indicate the Suspension Rods PartSelect Number: PS11703288 may need to be replaced. Hope this helps!
