what will cause the washer to show that it is on but doesn't actually wash or do anything just light up...

Hello Best, thank you for contacting us. The issue is probably related to a faulty lid latch assembly, part number PS11755478. It prevents the washer door from opening during the wash cycle or spin cycle and if the door is open it will stop the washer from running. If this does not help, the issue is probably related to a faulty control board, part number PS11737994. It manages the washer's functions such as filling, washing, draining, and spinning.
