Low water flow into dispenser and washer tub
Super simple repair, videos on this site were spot-on.
1. Turn off water, unplug washer, and disconnect the hoses from the back of the washer. 2. Remove the three T20 torx screws holding on the top of the washer, slide the top back about an inch, and lift off. 3. Remove the T20 torx screw holding the water valve to
... Read morethe back plate of the washer. 4. Using pliers, release the hose clamp on the outlet hose of the valve and slide it down about an inch. 5. Remove the old valve and attach the new one to the outlet hose. Reinstall the hose clamp. 6. Replace the screw that holds the valve to the back plate and reinstall the top of the washer. Reconnect hoses the the washer, turn on water, and plug back the washer back in. 7. Odds are, your water flow has been low for a while and the first cycle is going to flush a good bit of mildew and other gunk into the washer drum. Run a cleaning cycle with about 1/3 cup bleach through the washer prior to using.
Should be good to go!

Inlet valve was stuck in open position allowing washer to fill with water when not in use.
Removed lid. Took old parts off and replaced with new parts. Also replaced hoses while washer was moved away from wall.
The inlet valve begins to restrict water flow into the washer based on normal calcium buildup. At a certain point, the washer will start giving an F20 error code indicating it is not getting enough water.
This is a straightforward replacement. Move the washer to an area where you can work on it. Unplug the washer from the wall. Turn off the water and disconnect the hot and cold water hoses at the washer. Remove the back of the washer. Slide out the top of the washer. Remove the small hose from the valve to the remainder of the washer. Disc

After the spin cycle-clothes are removed/tub is dry. After a short period water will flow back into the tub. Drain/spin cycle will remove the water but it will return.
For model number WFW9400SW02
Hi Paul,
Thank you for your question. If there is water leaking into the tub when the washer is not in use, then there is an issue with the water inlet valve and it may need to be replaced. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I get a f20 error code every once in a while.Approx once ever 4 days.Could this be a intermittent flow meter? This usually happens when its due to pump out,but not allways.
For model number WFW 9400sw01
Hi Ken,
Thank you for your inquiry. The F20 error code is letting you know that there is a water supply issue. To resolve this issue press pause/cancel 2 times. If this does not help unplug the washer from the electrical outlet for 2 minutes and plug it back in. Try a wash cycle and if the F20 error code appears again you will need to open both the hot and cold water valves all the way to see if this fixes the issue. Also make certain the hoses are connected correctly and that there are no obstructions in them. Also clean the filters on the water inlet valve. If you have tried all this and it does not help you may need to replace the water inlet valve. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Kenmore elite washer (mfg. By Whirlpool) fills intermittently with cold water, but hot water fills the machine correctly. Machine wash/rinse cycle won't start until cold water fills the tub to the correct level. I have already replaced the water level switch and hose, but this did not correct the problem. I'm thinking of replacing the water inlet valve with part number #8182862. Does this solution seem plausible?
For model number 110.24994300
Hi Bill, Thank you for the question. Yes, if it is just the cold water that is not filling properly then the valve will need to be replaced. The valve has a cold and hot solenoid and the cold side sounds like it is not opening to allow the water through. Hope this helps!

Hi there my washer continually runs water even when power is off. Plumber said to just get new washer, but that’s extremely expensive. Seems everything i’m reading is it’s the water inlet valve? Would you say this is the issue. Note it actually ran for so long and i was unaware and it ran my well dry. Only way to stop is to turn off water supply. Thanks!!
For model number 110 47086601
Hello Staci, thank you for writing. For this symptom you will want to consider either the Water Inlet Valve part PS11745050, the Flowmeter part PS11748313, or the Water Level/Pressure Switch part PS11755855. We hope this helps.

I have a Kenmore front loader washing machine. It just started giving an FH error.
Please what will be my best repair option and part?
Thanks.
For model number 45081404
Hi Nnam,
Thank you for your question. If the washer control does not sense water coming into the washer within 30 seconds of the fill valves opening, the FH error code will appear. Resetting the washer may remove the code. If your washer has a pause/cancel button, press it twice to cancel the wash cycle and then unplug it. With the washer unplugged, check the inlet hoses to see if the screens are clogged and check the both the hot and cold water water inlet hoses to see if they are kinked. You should also check the drain hose to make sure it is not down too far in the stand pipe. Also, make sure that the faucets are completely turned on. Once you have done this, plug the washer back in and select a wash cycle. If the FH error code reappears, then depending on your model, you may have an issue with the pressure switch, the sensor, the wiring or the electronic control board. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.

Kenmore elite he 4t. Just a tip. The washer seemed to be filling with to much water causing a fault. Went through the typical possibilities for error f h. Water valve, flow meter and water level pressure switch and hose and everything looked good. Just happened to think of checking the boot and there i found the problem. Lint and small socks were logged under the boot preventing water from draining except when the tub was spinning.

Hi Terry,
Thank you for contacting us and for letting us know. We are happy to hear that you were able to resolve this issue. Sometimes clothing can get stuck in the grooves of the bellow or door boot seal and cause this problem. It is important to clean and check the bellow regularly for signs of wear or damage. If you have any questions, please let us know.
