Left rear gas valve was frozen
Turn off the gas supply and unplug the electric supply. Remove the top grates and the burner cartridges. Remove 12 screws around the top cover and loosen the two screws for the fan switch. Pull the fan switch up and out of the way, remove the top cover. With a marking pen, label the four igniter switches and pull them off the gas valves.
... Read moreFrom underneath, remove the gas line from the pressure regulator, then remove the regulator from the pipe coming from the circular manifold. With a 3/16 socket (1/4 inch drive) or a 3/16 nut driver, remove the four screws that hold the manifold. Then from the top pull the manifold up and out. On the bottom, remove the screw (1/4 inch socket or nut driver) and remove the old gas valve. That's it. Now just put it all back together in reverse order. I used pipe joint compound on the pipe threads. Check for leaks with a soapy water solution. If I had to do this again, it would only take me half the time. I wasn't sure how everything came apart the first time..

1. Turn off power to the cooktop and turn off the gas. This is extremely critical. 2. Remove the knobs and then the covering. Beneath will be the valve part you need to change. 3. Find a way to mark where all the wires go into the piece that sits over the valve (mine was white with a blue ring in the center). You will see four wires goin
... Read moreg into it. You can photograph it, or you can use tape and a sharpie to write where everything goes on the parts themselves. It is likely that they will become disengaged at some point during your repair, so the step is crucial. 4. Lift off the piece on top of the valve (the valve goes through the blue hole in the center of the white piece). Don't be afraid to give it a tug, as it can be slightly stuck. 5. Find a way to get underneath the large circular plate (mine was gold colored) beneath the valve in order to remove any screws that are holding the valve in place unseen below the surface. 5. Now back above the surface: disconnect the gas valve attached to the valve. 6. Switch out the valve to the new one and reverse these steps to install it. ****7. If you are unable to get beneath the plate where the valve is attached on the underside, no worries. Take the new valve and carefully unscrew the top two screws (need a special tool from a hardware store) and similarly take off the screws on top of the broken valve. Be very careful to remove the top of the old valve slowly enough to see exactly how the inside pieces have to be put together. Essentially, you will find a spring and a small ring with three notches. The small part of the spring goes on the bottom, the larger part of the spring faces upward, and on top of that goes the ring with the three notches aligned in a certain way that's very important so that when you put it back together not only will the valve depress properly but you will be able to change the fire from low to medium to high. Make sure you can depress the valve a little bit, if not you have to readjust the ring until it's in the proper position. 8. Turn on gas and power to be sure it works. 9. Close unit. ***Note: if any of your parts accidentally dropinto the opening, use a magnetized srcrewdriver to retrieve them.

cvg4280W turning on the left burners, the vent fan begins running even though the vent switch is in the off position.
When the right burners are turned on, the fan does not automatically begin running. That is, the fan runs when the switch is turn on low or high.Ideas?

The exhaust fan thermostat is usually the failed component. When it senses heat it turns on the exhaust fan. If you are cooking on the cooktop, it can sense the heat and the fan won't turn off until the thermostat cools. ... It is also common for this thermostat to fail causing the fan to constantly run. Do you have installation instructions for part ps11757482, which i just purchased? I'm not sure how to remove the small blue ring (possibly labeled #12) on top of the white part (labeled #7) just above the valve i purchased. Once i can remove the blue ring and #7 in the diagram, i'm golden!

Hi Dana,
Thank you for your inquiry. We do not have instructions for this particular valve, however, there is information on how to install a right side gas valve which a customer noted on our website that you may find useful. This person advised, "Turned off the gas valve and disconnected the gas line from the stove-top. Removed the stove top and disassembled the unit, to access the bad parts. While unit was disassembled we cleaned the parts which were to be reused and applied the new parts. The unit was then reassembled and reinstalled. The replacement of the gas valve required only a 1/2" wrench and screw driver, while the replacement of the ignitors required the use of an adjustable wrench. The ignitors are connected via spade connectors to an electrical device located in the electrical box at the lower center portion of the unit. Not a hard job but slightly time consuming." I hope you find this information useful. If you are still having problems installing the part you may need to get help installing it. I hope your repair goes well.

The right side burners ignite but the left two do not. I bought and changed the two igniters but I still get no spark. What next?
