Easy repair. Door gasket on Whirlpool Refrigerator
The part came when expected. Unfortunately I watched a u-tube video to replace gasket. It said to take the door off and several other things that I didn't have time to do. So I put it off.
I kept thinking about what I saw and what my refrigerator door looked like. I decided the u-tube video was wrong. I was right. It took me five minutes to take old gaskets off and to put new ones on. I didn't have to remove doors. I didn't even have to take shelves with stuff in them off the doors. Perfect!

Wrong part and total lack of knowledge of agent.
After giving detailed description I was sent the wrong part. Even though the gasket was 3 inches too narrow and was for the left door and not the right door I was told it would fit if heated with a hair dryer. I did not heat the part and returned it. I purchased the correct gasket from the manufacturer and have installed the gasket without a problem. Now awaiting refund of incorrect part.

Condensation inside at the top of the refrigerator. Freezer compartment icing up.
Repair was very easy. I followed the instruction provided by this site for mullion rail. The door gaskets were a simple push fit. but needed the use of a hair drier to remove crimps in the rubber. Overall excellent. The refrigerator is working and cooling well.
Warm gasket with hair dryer, remove old gasket , press new gasket into place

I am looking for the replacement door gasket for the right door of my KitchenAid refrigerator. The right door is larger than the left and the gasket is clearly larger as well. It seems like the parts listed for replacement is the same for left and right. After reading the negative customer review for the door gasket "8", it appears there are two different parts. Can you help direct me to the correct part number?

The white right side door gasket is under part PS12173626 and the white left side door gasket is under part PS11759516 for your model. We hope this helps!
Hello, I have a Kenmore White French Door Refrigerator with a bottom freezer. When facing the refrigerator, I reach with right hand to open the (right most) door... this is the right door correct? This is the door I need a white gasket for. Which of the following parts are the correct part? PS12173626 or PS11759516. Thank you.

Hello Raena, thank you for the great question. The door gaskets are the same for the right and left-hand doors. The part number PS12173626, and PS11759516, are both compatible with your model and are in the white color. We hope this sorts out your problem!
