Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This agitator kit does NOT include the fabric softener dispenser (part 8575076A). That must be ordered separately.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Agitator
Arrived quickly, and easy install with video. Solved problem of clothes wrapping around my old agitator. Lot cheaper than new washer.

The plastic teeth on the inside of the large agitator stripped out.
I needed an air impact wrench to remove the single nut. It was stuck on there. Once the Nut. Was removed it was an easy repair. Perfect fit! Just pop it on the shaft and replace the bolt. Since I had my air tools out already I gave it a couple of dugga duggas.

Had to replace the agitator
I already had the old agitator out, so when I got the new one I put it in the tub. You have to spin it a little so it seats properly. I then tightened the bolt with a 7/16” socket and my wife was washing a load within 15 minutes

Splines on lower agitator bad, worn.
Had to clean debris on metal drive shaft splines in orderv forvnew lower agiitator to seat properly. Install upper agitator and parts then reinsert bolt in upper agitator. Install cap and o-ring, fabric softner dispenser and test for proper operation.
Removed top of agitator and undid the bolt with 7/16ths extended socket wrench. Took out the full agitator. Three plugs had to be removed one was missing. They were in ruff shape. You have to push in the plugs until they snap in. Put in the new agitator and put the bolt back in.
Top auger of the agitator assembly did not work due to worn out cogs in the top bushing
I removed the softener cup from the top of the agitator unit. The auger works separately from the bottom agitator. Remove the cap from down in the auger. There is a 7/16" bolt that holds the Auger and agitator to the center shaft. Loosen that bolt with a 7/16" socket on an extension from the ratchet wrench, and remove it from the bushing
... Read more- I used a magnet. You will need to hold the agitator to loosen the bolt. Save that bolt. You will need it later. The entire agitator and auger can be lifted as a unit straight up out of the washer tub. There is a plastic bushing in the replacement kit. Slide it down over the center shaft with the small tabs up, then apply some Vaseline to the tabs as a lubricant. The new agitator can now be slipped down over the center shaft and seated on the bushing. Place the top auger onto the shaft down on to the agitator. Next, assemble the top bushing by placing the four cogs into the slots with the small pegs. The cogs must have the side with the raised area on the top of the assembly. Next push the plastic keeper down over the center of the bushing to hold the cogs in place and push it down to secure the cogs. Place this assembly into center shaft and line up the four rectangular holes in the top bushing with the four plastic prongs below. The top bushing assembly may be pushed down and secured by the four upright pegs below. If there are plastic tabs obstructing the rectangular holes in the top bushing , you can put the bolt back into the center hole and carefully tighten it down making sure the four holes align with the four pegs below. Tighten until the top bushing is securely in place. You will need to hold the lower agitator while you tighten the bolt with the socket wrench. Replace cap over the top bushing, then the softener cup into the top of the agitator assembly. The job is complete.

Agitator didn't move
Inserted a straight slot screwdriver into the small opening between the Fabric Softener Dispenser and the Agitator Assembly. Twisting the screwdriver slightly, causes the dispenser to separate from the agitator exposing a 7/8" bolt. Using the proper socket, removing the bolt allows for the removal of the complete agitator assembly. Revers

Agitator, not working, spins freely on drive shaft
I was emboldened after reading other reviews by how easy it was to replace the agitator in my Whirlpool, with comments like "it took less than an hour". Well, that might be true for some... The video also made it look easy, so I ordered the replacement part. I did not disassemble the machine in advance but I did enough troubleshooting to
... Read moredetermine that the clutch was fine, but the agitator failed to spin during operation. When the part arrived I followed the video, but I was unable to loosen the retaining bolt. The failure of the agitator was a result of stripped gear on the inside of the agitator, so it just spun loosely or, during the wash cycle, not at all. Because the gear teeth failed to grip, I was unable to use the agitator to hold the shaft stationary while loosening the attaching bolt. My only option was to cut the plastic agitator away from the shaft using a rotary cutter, being careful not to damage the shaft or the bolt. This was a painful, time consuming job but, with patience, it can be done. Have a shop vac handy because you'll have to stop on numerous occasions to vacuum up plastic pieces and dust, so they don't slip through the small holes in the drum and clog your drain. The problem was compounded because during the initial installation they had used excessive amounts of Loctite and the bolt was glued pretty tightly to the shaft. Anyway, after approx. 4 hours of troubleshooting/repair work the washer is back in operation, and I still saved money on the deal, so I'm a satisfied customer..

The bucket of the dog's harness is bought under the agitator of the washer. How do i loosen the agitator to lift it up to remove the harness buckle from under the agitator?
For model number NTW4516FW3
Hello Tom, Thank you for your inquiry. You need to start by removing the cap, the cap barrier, and use a socket wrench to remove the bolt from the agitator. You should then be able to pull the agitator out. We have included a link to our video for a similar agitator to assist you with removing the agitator. Hope this helps.

My washer is not agitating . I replaced the agitator dog & motor drive coupling. Still is not agitating & make noise during the regular wash. Please help
For model number ETW4400WQ0
Hi Jamal, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that you will have to check to see if they need to be replaced. You should check your thrust spacer and agitator cam bearing. Both of those parts are in the agitator repair kit. You may also want to take a look at your agitator cams, your gearcase, and then finally your motor itself. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
I just need the fabric softener dispenser not the entire agitator. This is a new washer. Do you have a part number for just the dispenser

Hello Robert and thank you for writing.
Softener dispenser. This part is discontinued for your model and is no longer available. We have no known replacement information in our system. We recommend you contact the manufacturer of the part to see if they have recently released a new substitute. We do carry related parts for units just like yours. For example, part number PS11749935 Good luck with your repair.
The agitate won't turn while washing but the bottom section is turning. Would the agitator kit would be all I should need for this. Washer runs fine does a great job just now the the top agitator won't turn?

Looking for ‘dust cover’ part number in agitator assembly. Exploded parts diagram it’s items 2 and 3
For model number 110.25852400
Hi David, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, your model does not include a separate agitator cap barrier and seal. These parts come with the fabric softener dispenser, part number PS11746095, that is present on the top of the agitator. We look forward to hearing from you if you need assistance with placing an order through our 7-day-a-week customer service!
Hi Ruby, thank you for getting in touch. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest you tighten the bolt at the bottom of the agitator. When the bolt is loose, it causes the agitator to wobble. If this still does not resolve the issue, then we would suggest checking the directional cogs, part number PS388034, to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
