Starts up then shuts off. Start again there is a clicking sound in control panel then stops.Start it again and it might start but usually stops. My wife smells wires burning. Could this be a bad motor?
For model number DLE2101W
Hi Phil, Thank you for the question. This sounds like the Drive Motor is defective and needs to be replaced.Hope this helps!

Once dryer power is on i can select which setting i want to use, when i push start it does not tumble or turn. The light that says drying is lit like it is doing what it's suppose to but nothing is happening. The belt is in tact and fine. I do not know what it could be, please help.
For model number DLE4801W
Hi Stephanie,
Thank you for your question. If you dryer is not starting, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the door switch, the drive motor, the thermal fuse and the belt. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Drum will not rotate after becoming warm (ie:2nd load) unless i manually begin to rotate the drum while pressing the start button. This leads me to think it is a faulty capacitor but i can not locate one in the diagram. Does this model have one or go by another name?
For model number DLE7177RM
Hello Bob, thank you for your question. The capacitor is not sold separately. It is included with the motor. It sounds like the issue is with the motor itself. I would recommend replacing the motor and the belt as well. I hope this helps!

My dryer won't stop turning even when off, only stops when unplug
For model number DLE3050W
Hi Linnea, thank you for contacting us. We have researched the model and would recommend performing a hard reset before moving to any parts repair or replacement. Also, check if the start button is stuck. If the issue remains, the problem might be with the control board, part number PS12750339. A faulty relay on the control board may also cause the dryer to not turn off. We hope this information helps!
Do you know if the centrifugal clutch piece (not sure if this is what it is called) on the motor is sold separately?
Thanks
For model number DLE8377CM
Hello Carly, thank you for your inquiry. The part you are looking for is the centrifugal switch. It is not sold separately for your model. You will need to replace the whole motor, part number PS3523290. Glad to be of assistance!

Aloha, my LG dryer will run for approx. 30 seconds then stop. After another 30 seconds to a minute it will start running again. This continues until the programmed cycle is complete. Thank you for your help! Lee
For model number DLE2516W
Hi lee, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the moisture sensor bars at the bottom of the front bulkhead. You will need to remove one screw and lift the assembly away from the bulkhead and check to make sure the wires are attached to the metal bars. If so, clean the sensor bar assembly with rubbing alcohol or electrical contact cleaner to remove any build up or debris on the sensor bars so the control can recognize a wet load of clothes. Hope this helps!

Does not start. Light comes on in drum and timer starts but drum does not turn. Replaced thermal fuse but still nothing.
For model number Dlex4070w
Hi Albert, hard to say, could need a replacement belt PS11705916. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!
Dryer will tumble but pauses during every rotation. Wondering if replacing the motor or what will fix this issue. Thanks
For model number DLE5977W
Hello and thank you for writing.
This could indicate an issue with the door strike and lock and/or hinges as it almost sounds like it keeps cutting out the contacts, which sends the message the door is open.
Door strike PS3522825.
Locker assembly PS3522825.
Hinges PS3523444.
If that all checks out ok you need to check the motor itself. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
The drum will not turn unless I start spinning it by hand. There are two die-cast parts, at least one spring and some broken plastic that have come detached from the motor between the main part of the motor and where the drive pully is. Does the new motor come with that assembly?
For model number DLE5977W
Hello Joseph, thank you for writing. We have found a link for you that shows the actual photo of the motor. https://www.lgcanadaparts.com/product/inv_16907580. We do believe the motor is a complete assembly. Good luck and have a great day.
