Ice Maker was making ice erratically
After sending PartSelect the info to their troubleshooting dept. about my ice maker, they recommended replacing the ice solenoid. I did so at a cost of $102. No change, turned out replacing the ice maker(did not purchase from PartsSelect) was the issue and works fine now.

So wasted $102. FYI the part took 6 days to arrive.

ice maker would not dispense cubes, stuck on crushed ice
turn off ice maker, unplug electoral connection, under bottom of ice maker, remove two screws (hex) under bottom of ice maker, lift up on it to unhook it, take it out. (dump out all ice ). remove back plate on back of ice maker (two screws), the solenoid is held in place with two brass screws, remove them, then remove ground wire from solenoid and two wires, that connect to it,(make a note of how wires go back !). put it all back together and your good to go. . i dont think its really the solenoid that goes out, its the housing that encases it, and you have to buy another solenoid thats encased. good luck

The ice dispenser would only dispense crushed ice, Fridge door cluncked when opening and closing
For the ice dispenser, I read a blog that pointed me right to the solenoid that controls the linkage for the crushed /cubed ice.I first unplugged the fridge. Then removed the ice maker basket. Removed 2 ea screws from each side of the supports of the lower brackets. Then lifted the tray assy off the mounting bracket, moving the front of the bracket down you can then unhook the power/control connector.
The tray then comes right out. Once out you remove two screws that hold a plastic plate on. With this removed you can see the solenoid that actuates the linkage for the ice cube and crushed ice. You then remove 2 ea machine screws that hold the solenoid in. Remove grd. wire. and pull power wires off tabs. You can then remove the solenoid by sliding it out of the plastic retainer. With it out you install the new plunger and reassemble in the reverse order. 15 mins tops.

The main Refidgerator door, made a cluncking sound. Lube didn't help. I removed the door by removing the top screw from the plastic cover, then slide it forward, then remove the two screws that hold the hinge on and then lifting the door off, once off the lower nylon hinge bearing comes right out of the door, the plate is removed with a screw driver. Installed in reverse order and cluncking was gone. 10 mins

My ice maker don't work. Changed water inlet valve
For model number FRS26LH5DS9
PartSelect logo
Hi Joe, thank you for your question. There are two parts that you should check for this issue. The first part to test would be your water inlet valve. The valve has two solenoids that control either the dispenser or the ice maker. Even if your dispenser is working the ice maker solenoid may not be and vise versa. The valve can be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 500 - 1500 ohms of resistance. If that part is testing correctly then you should look into your ice maker being the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Makes ice but does not dispense ice
For model number frs26lf7ds7

Hello and thank you for writing. It certainly sounds like it could be a faulty ice container and auger assembly PS1991430 you should check the part(s) for signs of damage and replace the part(s) as needed. It is more likely to be faulty than the solenoid, but the solenoid is a possibility as well. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

My ice maker is making a grinding / moaning noise and won’t dispense cub or crushed ice
For model number PHS69EJSS2

Hello Susan, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the auger motor, part number PS10057235, to solve the problem. It rotates the auger. When the auger rotates, it pushes ice out of the bin, through a chute to the user. We hope this helps!

ice maker only making a few small cubes. When the water dispenser comes on it sounds like it is "short cycling", i e not filling the tray. The ice maker appears to be cycling normally other than the problem described.
For model number LFSS2612TE4
PartSelect logo
Hello Duane, thank you for your question. When the icemaker makes smaller cubes, it is usually a clog somewhere along the supply line due to frozen water in the line. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you.

Ice maker seems to be melting, then refreezing in large chunks - then it won't dispense. Not sure what it could be - cleaned entire frig & freezer, cleaned door gaskets and put vaseline on them. Still happening. Also, the handle to turn off the icemaker will try to go up, but just sticks and clicks and clicks constantly - very loud and annoying. Please help
