Great Part, Confirm Seal
This part was exactly what I needed to replace a dispenser that had too much buildup to stay latched.
Had issue finding correct size socket, and the part was not as tightly attached as I first thought. Tested with water before putting front panel back on and realized I needed to tighten more. Found correct socket and was able to securely attach to complete seal.
No issues since installation. Took me about 30 minutes as a novice doing first dishwasher repair.

Only a small issue.
The part fit well with no issues. I would recommend running the dishwasher before reinstalling the front cover panel to make sure there aren't any leaks. I didn't tighten the install screws tight enough fearing stripping the threads & had a slight leak. After further tightning of the screws there were no more problems.

Dishwasher door "flopped down", detergent dispenser did not open, built in unit fastening screws replaced.
So after 4 yrs wifey not happy which makes me not happy. Biggest issue was figuring out how to pull built in dishwasher out. Not really that tough. Replace detergent and rinse aid dispenser
Excellent R&R video on the web site. Lists all tools, what screws to remove, which ones to leave in place. Easy to follow instructions. ONLY difference between replacement and original dispenser: Original dispenser has second electrical plug on lower right side of the unit, apparently something to do with JetDry release. New dispenser

Soap Dispenser was not working so Ordered new one from this site.
It was never mentioned anywhere in Kitchenaid's Manual or help page that there is some insulation between back and front door. I had to put lot of effort to open the door to get an access to back of the dispenser because Insulation melted due to hot back door surface and stick with the door. I used long putty knife to separate insulation

Now, here in video it shows that just do unscrew 8 screws from both sides and that will allow you to remove the door but in my case I had to unscrew those 8 +4 on sides. Deteregent Dispenser needed Replacement
This was a relatively simple repair. 1.) Using a torx screwdriver I removed the lower 4 torx screws on each side of front door. The screws are located inside the front door. Be sure to hold the front panel in place while removing all 8 screws The upper screws do not need to be removed. They are for the control panel at the top of the
... Read moredoor. 2.) Remove the lower front panel on the door. 3.) Using a nut driver, remove the 6 screws that hold the upper and lower brackets to the detergent dispenser. Note the orientation of the brackets and the cloth cover. There are three screws for each bracket. 4.) Note that there are two different wires connected to the dispenser. One wire (closest to the outer panel) has a line along its length. The other wire does not. This identifies "hot" and "neutral". Remove the two wires. You may need to use a flatblade screwdriver to pry the wires off of the connectors. Do this carefully. 5.) The dispenser can now be removed from the door. 6.) Reverse the above steps to install the new dispenser. Be careful to slowly tighten each of the six screws for the dispenser a little at a time in order to make sure that the dispenser seats correctly into the door. That's about it. Job should take no more than 30 - 45 minutes.

Detergent dispenser would not stay closed
After reading info on your web site, logged onto YouTube and watched the video about the installation of the detergent dispenser. I watched it several times while making the repair to get it right. The only difficult part was getting the old detergent dispenser off because the screws were difficult to reach with the drill, but persisten

The part that I ordered for my old dishwasher, arrived in two days by FedEx. Before installing it, I read the first letter of the few that were attached to the confirmation of the shipment. However, soon I discovered that the index was triggered by a float. That told me wich way and in about 15 minutes I tested the machine for leaking running it on rinse. None appeared so very proudly I told my wife that I did this "difficult" job like a pro.
My only suggestion is to mention that the writing on the dispenser must be read looking from above down or to remind that the lid of the soap should open pivoting up and not the other way.

The old soap dispenser has two sets of wires. The main power on the left and a smaller gauge set on the right. What do I do about the small wires? The new dispenser has only the main power wires.
For model number GU1500XTLS3
Hello Jon,
Thanks for your question. If your model had a rinse aid sensor prior then the sensor wire is not connected - in such a case, only connect the spade connection wires. The sensor wire is able to be taped to the inside of the door.
I hope this helps.

Hello Laura, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, that gasket is only available by ordering the whole dispenser part number PS11746408. good luck with your repair!

There is an extra blue wire that connected to the right side of the original assembly. New assembly doesn't have a port to plug it in to. Did Whirlpool omit this from the new assembly & can you tell what that wire is? Thank you
For model number GU1200XTLB2
Hi Edward, Thank you for the question. The extra wire was for the Light Sensor and is no longer needed on the newly designed dispenser. You can just tape it off and then to the inside door panel so it is out of the way. Hope this helps!

My soap/rinse aid dispenser seems to be working but the rubber cap on the rinse aid dispenser is missing and the seal around the soap dispenser is torn. Can i just purchase those instead of the whole soap dispenser?
For model number GU1200XTLQ3
Hi Deb,
Thank you for your question. The rinse-aid cap is sold separately. The part number for is it PS11746426. However, the seal around the dishwasher is not sold separately and you will need to purchase the dispenser to get it. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Is the outer panel glued to the styrofoam? Is the styrofoam glued to the inner door? How do put in the new soap dispenser on this when the outer panel is stuck to the styrofoam?
For model number KUDiOlILBS6
Hi Bill,
Those are some great questions. On our website, just under the information on the detergent and rinse aid dispenser, you will find an installation video and instructions left by other customers on how to install the part. This should answer all of your questions. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The rinse aid dispenser leaks. I can see a little arrow in there to set the amount and then the little door closes over it. Is that little round area to have some kind of seal around it or a cap of some sort to keep it from leaking? If so, what part would I need? The dishes do not dry totally so I am thinking it is because there is no rinse agent. I have been using the tablets with the little ball but they don't help.
For model number KUDS01DLBL2
Hello Alice,
Thanks for your question. There is a dispenser cap available under part number PS11746156, which is used to help prevent the dispenser from leaking.
I hope this helps.
My dispenser is not popping open. I think the spring is broken, otherwise it seems to be okay. Is there any way to just replace the spring?
For model number KUDS01DJSP0
Hi Shelley,
Thank you for your question. The spring is not sold separately and in order to fix the issue with the dispenser, you will have to replace it. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The seal on our kitchen aid dishwasher is leaking badly and needs to be replaced. Most if not all the soap leaks out before the dishwasher turns on, we usually set a 2 or 4 hour delay. I think that even if we started the washer right away, by the time it releases the soap , most of the soap would have leaked out. I certainly hope i can get just the seal because as far as i can tell only the seal is bad. Thank you, mike

Hi Michael, Thank you for the question. Very sorry but the seal is not sold separately from the dispenser its self. Hope this helps!
