Dryer would not run. Push start and only relay clicked.
Troubleshoot wiring to make sure it was'nt fuse or limit switchs. Had voltage to motor but nothing happened. Had to be the motor. Ordered motor and a couple of other parts that needed to be replaced. Motor replacement was real easy, hardest part for me was getting blower off motor shaft. Was a good time to clean out dryer and vent.Found a few dollars in lost change also, my tip. Used your regular shipping and from order to repair was only three days. I would definitly order from you again. Thanks.
I unplugged the machine and removed the back panel with a 1/4" socket. I unplugged each thermostat in turn and pulled them out. The internal bias was a bit tricky to remove without breaking the tabs or wires. I then placed each thermostat back in and replaced all the wires. Not bad at all. Weird thing is the dryer heats just fine now, until I put the back panel on; once I replace the back panel, it will not heat.
I watched the video then called them to order parts. They were VERY helpful & NICE. I had the parts the NEXT day. I followed the video instructions & it worked. They made my day! THANK YOU JoAnn & Teresa!
Bought the heater element and was fortunate to see a video of "how to" replace. Was quite straight forward really. Just needed a 1/4 inch socket...with preferably an extension to take off the back of the dryer. the only thing that was a little different in real life from the video was taking off the thermostat from the heater element. I used a screwdriver to bend the metal fork back so I could remove it. Other than that, I was done in 40 minutes.
Thank goodness for the video!!! Really helped. Removed screws from back, loosened wires and screws on old element. Toughest part was getting thermostat off of old element. Video mentioned screws, my unit was attached via a metal tab. Took some figuring to get it apart and not damage thermostat. Getting new unit into venting was tight fit - had to fit juuuuuusst right. Re-attach screws, plug it in to test - hot air. Reassembly no problem. I am not a real handy guy so for me to say this was easy means it was really easy.
Read this site and saw many fixed the problem with a new thermostat. Ordered one and it was simple to replace. Just removed the back panel of the dryer and the thermostat is right there. Two screws to remove it, swap the four wiring plugs onto the new one, reinstall it. Unfortunately that didn't fix it so went back online and ordered the coil kit, another common solution. Removed front of dryer by removing the two screws the hold the lint trap onto the top and the two hinge plate screws on back of dryer to tilt the top up ward and backward. Removed two mounting screws on inside of dryer front and slip front panel upward to remove. The coils are right in the front down at the bottom left of dryer.Used an offset screwdriver to remove the two screws holding them in place. They slide right out, one has two prongs, one has three. Replace them with the new coils and put them back in place. Reassembled and everything works now. Grand total of eight screws removed and replaced, pretty simple. I'd recommend buying two or three parts if you see several parts as possibilities for a repair. Easier than doing it the dummy way like I did!
First I watched the repair video on-line at this site After pulling the dryer away from the wall and unplugging the 220 volt power cord I removed the back panel with the 9 screws. I then unplugged the wires to the thermostat/heating element. With an ohm meter I discovered that the heating element was good and the high limit thermostat was bad. I ordered the high limit thermostat from this site on a 2 day shipment. When the part arrived I installed the part and the wires. Plugged in the dryer for a quick check for heating. Replaced the back panel and moved the dryer back into position. Dryer works fine now.
followed the instructions on this site. to find the problem. checked the coil, thermostats and fuse with my multimeter. Found the bad one, order the part and put it in. It was very simple and now my 20 year old dryer works again.
Replaced the Heating Element and Thermostat High Limit Put every thing back on dryer pluged it in turn it on let it run on high heat for 25 mins Every thing is ok now. very ease to work on.
